It's hard to decipher the difference between some of the models here on Amazon, but I did a bit of homework and found, besides the color choices, many models out there are near identical. One difference is that some of the discounted versions are made in China. This, like the better models, is made in Germany. Also, some models have more attachments than most. This came with two different floor attachments as well as two smaller nozzle types. I've been using it for a few weeks now and love it. I have hardwood floors in 95% of the house and a few area rugs. Although vacuums like this have no working beater bar at the head, the suction is so strong, you don't miss it (on rugs) and of course, you don't want or need that on hard floors. Great product and worth the investment. Lastly, I'm done with bagless models. You think you're saving, but dealing with dust is not my bag. (see what I did there? :) Anyway, I'm surprised how much I've cleaned and I'm still on the original bag. When it's finally full, I'll just toss it and not a spec of dust affects you. I also love pushing the button to fully retract the cord. Just a great product.

Purchased this back in Dec 2017. I used Orek and Dyson but I never knew you are not supposed to use roller type to vacuum hardwood/tile floors as roller can spin/push dust away and it can scratch hardwood floor over time. With Orek/Dyson, after I vacuumed, my wife had to mop the floors with microfiber and still pick up lots dust. So after a bit of research, we decided to purchase Miele Canister vacuum because my house already has many Miele appliances which we like. But I didn't know there are so many different types and some can cost arm and leg.You need to understand that pretty much all miele canister vacuum use the same motor (1200W Vortex). The only differences are color, shape/size, attachment storage, electrical cord length, floor nozzle/brush, rotary control dial to push button switch and powered handle(wand). Depending on what types of flooring you have in your house, you need to purchase correct Miele vacuum as this C1 Limited Edition is perfect for Hardwood floor/tile and perhaps very low carpet only. If you have medium to high carpet, then you need to purchase one with power wand, such as Miele Compact C2 Electro+Along with C1 Limited, I also purchased HEPA filter (SF-HA30), and floor brush (Miele Parquett Twister SBB 300-3). If you are buying C1, I HIGHLY recommend getting SBB 300-3 because one that comes with this unit doesn't swivel. Also, this unit does not come with HEPA filter so you might want to buy HEPA filter (SA-HA30) if this is what you want. Parquett Twister SBB 300-3 will make your life so much easier and does a better job than Sbb parquet-3 hard floor brush which comes with C1.It's been almost 4 months and I've been using this on weekly basis. My wife still mops the floor with microfiber but instead of every week, she only mops every other week now. According to her, she noticeably sees much less white dust after we started using Miele C1 even after mopping every other week so I guess it's doing the job much better compared to my old Orek and Dyson. Not sure if you already noticed, we are a bit of clean freak as my wife and I suffer from seasonal allergies. I HIGHLY recommend C1 if you ONLY have hardwood floor/tile and maybe very low-level carpet. Our house is around 95% hardwood floor and rest are travertine tiles so C1 is perfect for us. I originally was going to purchase Miele Complete C3 Calima thinking since it cost more so it must vacuum better than C1 and I liked some of the features but if you do your research and if you are smart, you realize that you don't need to spend $650 when C1 does the same job. However, if you have Medium to High carpet, C1 is NOT for you, even if you purchase Twister floor brush separately. The air suction power is not powerful enough to spin the brush and that's why you need to purchase a different model with a powered wand to provide separate electrical power to rotate the brush.
Best money I ever spent

Best money I ever spent. I installed a new floor and needed a vacuum with a good brush attachment for flooring. This thing is extremely quiet on the lowest setting so you can vacuum anytime during the day if you live in an apartment with neighbors. It has a lot of suction. On the highest setting if you do small rugs, you will need some muscle. Comes with 3 small attachments and 2 main attachments for floor/carpet combo and floor only. I thought the lower cost model is made in china, but on the vacuum it says made in Germany.
Poor performance on low carpet, poor response by customer service.

Having used Miele vacuums for years, I expected this to be a great vacuum. The vacuum worked perfectly on smooth floors. Even with suction set to medium and the foot switch clicked to carpet, when trying to vacuum low carpet resistance is extreme. This is uncomfortable, tiring and possibly bad for the carpet. Amazon is great on returns but we had already thrown out the packaging and were busy dealing with our move into a new apartment. Miele customer service said to just buy a turbo floorhead to do what the product description said the vacuum I had just bought should do.

Awesome vacuum. Our place is mainly low-pile carpet with our kitchen and bathroom being linoleum- vacuum handles everything very well.Overall it's pretty lightweight. It'll follow you around with its wheels most places, and when you need to carry it, it's no hassle. You've got roughly 17 feet of cable, which is more than enough for my needs. The canister also has a button to retract the cable automatically, and so far, it hasn't given us any issues.Miele makes great canister vacuums. This is a good-quality vacuum for someone who needs one that'll last them years, without breaking the bank. Obviously, it may not be the best for everyone. If doesn't handle medium pile well, it's really made for hard floors and low pile rugs.

I love this machine. It's the quietest vacuum I've had in a long time, I like the filtration system, it's well made, lightweight and easy to use. I know someone who's had one for at least 9 yrs and the cord winder still works. I'm pleased and glad it was on sale. I do wish that instead of the little 'clip on' caddy for the extra nozzles, there was an actual compartment to store them. I have a feeling I'll be tracking those attachments down from time to time.
