      Great little light

      This light does what I need. I do wish it was more customizable but for the price you can’t beat it. Looks great on my rimless aquarium. Would buy again.

      Solid aquarium light for planted nano tanks

      I received this product for my review, but I've bought and used Hygger lights in the past and have always found them to be solid products for the price. All lights have worked as advertised with their timer functions (may require a slight learning curve with the limited controls) and have grown low- to medium-light plants well for me. I especially enjoy the 24-hour settings that allow for changing light spectra throughout the day and don't require an external timer. Even many high-end lights don't offer this feature, which in my opinion should be standard for aquarium lights. High-light plants may not exhibit their full coloring or grow as fast as with a stronger RGB light, but for this price point, there is not much else to ask for.This particular model is an improvement over their previous clip-on-back models, which had a fixed overhang angle. This one can slide back and forth to accommodate a wider range of tank depth. However, even fully retracted, it still hangs too far out over the rim of my 3-gallon tank to fit well (14"x6" footprint). I recommend your tank be at least 8" deep from front to back if you plan to use this light, because there is no side mounting option.

      Good Light

      This light is the correct kelvin and easier on the eyes. The 24hr setting to give your fish a natural light cycle is great. My only complaint is the controls might be too oversimplified. It could use a companion app to set times and brightness like so many cheap led light kits have.

      Timer is confusing

      Honestly wished I had gotten another version of this as the timer on it can be very confusing. You have the daytime cycle on one button and the nighttime on another button and you have to figure out both at different times of the day to get it setup properly. It is the only major default I have with the light. But if you are looking for brightness, it's got it.... It's almost too bright! Very stable and great for the 6-gal cube it is on. We decided to forgo the timer functions at this time and set the brightness at a lower level due to algae bloom and my Betta loves it. Will probably go back to timer functions down the road.
