  If you smoke, this thing will constantly shame you.

  Apologies for the blurry pic.Any people who are like "Does this thing even work!?" obviously don't have a smoker in the house. Yes. It's practically silent most of the time until I decide to have myself a smoke. Then the thing turns red, kicks into high gear and does an impression of a jet engine. And I feel like it's trying to shame me. Yes, machine, I am aware smoking is bad for me. Yelling at me louder for it isn't going to make me quit instantly!!Other than that... there's really no hassle. Plug it in and turn it on. Everything's automatic, and you can adjust everything manually if you prefer.Oh yeah, don't forget to open the bottom (just twists out/in) and take the plastic off of the filter before you start it. WHOOPS.The replacement filters are pretty spendy... 50-60, I believe. (Feel free to double-check). It says they should last about a year... but considering it disapproves of my lifestyle, we'll see about that...UPDATE, about a week or so later: So after a day or two... even the first day. When I came home from work, it wasn't on. I wasn't home smoking up the place, so I figured it went into low-power mode. It said it would do that. As time went on, I noticed it wasn't kicking on. And I'd been smoking, this thing should be screaming at me by now. What's wrong? Plugged in, yes. I can feel air coming out very lightly. I could turn it on and off again, then it would kick on and start going red for a few minutes... then turn off before it even got to yellow. What gives?I had it in auto mode, cuz that seemed like the thing to do. And after some research, I discovered it goes into night mode when it senses low/no lights. Smart tech, you see! But my friends, it wasn't smart enough to realize it now lives with a guy who sits in a dark room all day and smokes like a chimney! Didn't see that one coming, did you smarty pants air purifier!?The solution I could figure was to just set the fan manually. Medium seems like a reasonable choice so it can actually sort of keep up with me, and also not drown out my PC. Turn on the ion... set the light dimmer so you can see the buttons in the dark. And boom.Knocks a point or two off for quality of life and perhaps value, since now it's just doing what my old one did that cost about a quarter as much. But with a thicker filter? Can't really tell you how well it's actually cleaning the air, since apparently it's been in power saving mode a majority of the time I've had it.

  Good but my neighbor is vile

  Update: decided to buy 2 new filters (one for each air purifier) because I am still stuck with this neighbor and at least these made the air cleaner than when not using anything besides an open window (in the cold weather). I’ve only had these purifiers 2-3 months and already replacing each air filter due to my upstairs neighbors many bad habits.My frustration is I am using the large ones, so essentially 3700 sq ft purified air per hour…in my 525 sq ft apartment. And yet I still smell the tobacco, marijuana, and other drugs. It’s a ridiculous situation. I’ve been hoping she soon gets evicted or the management doesn’t renew their lease, and I don’t get why they don’t move somewhere smoking it tolerated to begin with. Oh right, same reasons why I don’t want to live around smokers probably. Funny how that works, only I am following non smoking rules and they are not, add they are using drugs to the mix as well. Literally the worst people I’ve had to be in proximity to for any length of time and not be able to walk away from. No idea how/why this is tolerated at the rental property.Unfortunately smells are difficult to explain and prove however my filters for the 2 purifiers I purchased tell a story of a repugnant, vile drug addict neighbor. Which is why I have to return these, despite seemingly helpful for a short time, they sadly couldn’t keep up with the disgusting neighbors mental health and drug issues.3 weeks ago I had both of my 1000+ sq ft purifiers in my tiny maybe 200 sq ft tops bedroom to pull the sickening filth my neighbor upstairs was filtering through the vents and the stench also follows the quickest escape, which is the water pipes that cross my bedroom and livingroom. I usually have one in each room totaling 525 sq ft and the 2 purifiers are meant to cover 1000+ sq ft each. That’s how nasty this problem is. So both were in the small bedroom trying to eliminate the appalling vile and intentional stench she was amusing herself with. So bad was the repugnant stench, both purifiers now blow this filth out. They blow the filth out and give me no indicator light that the filters need to be changed despite the foul odor they both emit, which causes them to turn red in low air quality rage when I tried to air them out in return through the bathroom vent, which I have no doubt she smelled because this evening for the first time in a while she seemed to stop with her garbage in the vent, this is the kind of person I am really dealing with (and despite many complaints management and regional management do nothing). Moving is complex for a variety of reasons that looses focus of the point, but I will be trying to see if I can move as I am currently a full time student with loans for income at the moment and a super busy schedule that makes apartment hunting and moving difficult, but this gets ridiculous, because basically it seems she is unemployed middle aged on drugs no kids living with her elderly mom. Total case as you could likely determine, but besides the point.As stated these worked ok, but I could still smell smoke and it would say it’s clean 99% but I would get readings from another air quality device stating otherwise. Now that the purifiers are filled with these toxic, repugnant fumes that I can’t even describe, they’re so vile, they cannot be used. I tried to air them out outside and they still are not clearing. I intended to see if I filter change would help but highly suspect these are not going to be able to help me to the extent I need and I can air the apartment out just as well with an open window and a fan for the most part and not have paid close to 400 dollars.These probably work for normal circumstances but this is not that.

  Amazing!

  I love this air purifier,I can’t understand why a few people say it does nothing? Maybe they didn’t remove the bag from filter?? Read directions people.It does exactly what it’s supposed tooA few times this thing turned orange red, when I turned my vacuum on and when my Cockatiel bird flew over by it because of the dander they have so I guess he needs more baths and it also thought me to keep my vacuum cleaner!Most of the time it’s running 99.9% and the light is bright white, so that makes me very happy.On very windy days it goes to 88-90% so that also let me know to do weather stripping around my door. I keep it on auto, I love how it monitors the air every ten minutes but you can also do continues fan if needed.My allergies are way down! I used to wake up with a stuffy nose but not anymore.I am so pleased with this air purifier.

  Wrong product, but it worked out

  I ordered a warehouse item, so perhaps I got an older model? Definitely not the item pictured, but it worked out fine. Came with the disclosed cosmetic damage but functions just as it should. Not very quiet, but the white noise is a decent level. We have five cats and the air quality in our living room is vastly improved.

  I had been looking for a while when I came across this one! After using it for a month, I purchased 2 more for our two story home that is always over running with teen boys and a cat! We are pleased!
