  We got a variety of bottles in preparation for our baby since we weren't sure which would work best, but after a month of bottle feeding, we've decided we like these Dr. Brown's anti-colic bottles the most. The green tube thingy in the bottle seems to do it's job in preventing air from being swallowed. Our baby has not experienced any colic, thank goodness, and I'm sure this bottle use owed at least some credit. We've also found this design offers a steady milk flow which prevents our baby from gulping - this is something we observed with other bottles and caused our baby to go into coughing fits while feeding. He does not cough when drinking from these bottles. They can be a pain to clean, only because there are so many parts, but that is the only downside. Otherwise they are great bottles!

  This bottle is great for my 10 week old breastfed baby! We were using the 4 oz Philips avent bottles and had to begin using bottles that hold more ounces as she is growing, she did not love the 8 oz Philips avent bottle so we ordered these and she took it right away! I also love that it is glass, I was becoming concerned about heating up a plastic bottle. Highly recommend for my nursing mamas!

  5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and effective - lots to clean

  Good for a breast feed baby. Tired another brand and the flow on the newborn nipple was much too fast. Dr. Brown has a truly slow flow so baby does not chug and choke on milk. Though all the bits and bobs are a lot to clean, they do seem to help pace the baby’s feed and avoid gas. As for price, these are very competitive for glass bottles per unit. I preferred glass because plastic is porous and gets stinky and also degrades when heated. The glass helps the milk warm quickly and it’s easier to sterilize.

  We used Dr. Browns bottles with our daughter but never used the insert. When our son born he was experiencing reflux and every other bottle seemed to make it worse. Once we started using Dr. Browns with the insert he was burping less, wasn’t spitting up as much, just overall more comfortable. We have been working on BF since he was born and it’s finally working for us, the nipple on Dr. Browns doesn’t cause any nipple confusion. The only downside is there are a lot of parts to wash and it does take a toll on your bottle brush. The parts are also so small that I find it takes a very long time for them to dry properly as well, both are just small downsides to how well they’ve worked for us.

  After buying and liking the 4oz version of this bottle, I purchased a couple of the 8oz version when my baby was about 2 mo old.The bottle itself is very well made, but It is very heavy and cumbersome. I find it very hard to feed him with the 8oz bottle and will likely be purchasing either the plastic version or another bottle type when he needs to use the larger size all the time. I would be very concerned about him holding this bottle on his own when that time comes.Note on the 4oz version. While I overall like them and have only a couple plastic ones, the glass ones are more difficult to travel with - you can’t just throw into a bag and not worry. I generally take a plastic bottle when for the diaper bag, but found it a chore to take the glass ones on a recent road trip. Also, the 4oz are a little heavy, but manageable at home.
