Designers Gouache colours are a range of opaque water colours, mainly used by designers, illustrators and commercial artists to create vibrant illustrations in solid colour. Gouache is also widely used in fine art as an opaque water colour. Today the Designers Gouache range benefits from significant developments in technology and is smoother, flatter, more opaque and more brilliant than ever before. Bright and vivid colors. Full and matt coverage. Formulated by chemists and approved by artists, this new range precisely matches the physical and chemical characteristics of cadmium-based paints, but without the cadmium. Available in Lemon, Yellow Pale, Yellow Deep, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Scarlet. Intermixability All Designers Gouache colours are fully intermixable. Designers Gouache, Professional Water Colour, and Cotman Water Colour can also be fully intermixed. Pigments The opacity of Designers Gouache is due to the exceptionally high levels of pigmentation in the formulation, which results in both covering power and clean colour mixing. The natural attribute of each pigment adds to the level of opacity and contributes to covering power. Matt Finish As a result of the high level of pigmentation and the Gum Arabic binder Designers Gouache dries to a matt finish. This reduces reflection when photographing gouache art work. Designers Its ease of use, brilliance, quick drying and matt finish make it the most popular designers' and illustrators' colour. The opaque matt finish makes for more accurate reproduction at artwork stage as it minimizes reflections. Fine Artists Use it in conjunction with water colour or on its own as opaque water colour.
