These classic Felco pruners set the standard by which all others are judged. The choice of landscape professionals, nursery workers, and savvy gardeners around the globe; this exceptionally well-made tool features a design that's been unchanged for more than 50 years. The anvil blade has a deep sap groove to prevent sticking. A Swiss, precision-made cutting blade with soft wire cutter is replaceable for maximum return on investment. An easily-adjusted bolt and nut allow users to customize blade alignment for more efficient operation. A rubber cushion with shock absorbers pads blades where they come together to reduce impact and strain on wrists. Strong, light, forged-aluminum alloy handles have a red, plastic coating that's molded for comfort (and makes pruners easier to spot in the garden). A non-corroding spring mechanism is covered with a metal sheath to protect from moisture.

Ideal for trimming rose bushes and woody perennials, the Felco Original's smooth, soft action, ergonomic comfort, and exceptional durability put it in a class of its own. It's covered by a one-year warranty. However, with proper care, these pruners will last a lifetime. --Mary Park

Great pruner, but compare this "large size" to the Felco F-6 for a smaller hand.

Great pruner, but compare this "large size" to the Felco F-6 for a smaller hand. The only reason that I did not give this pruner 5 stars is the incomplete description. The F-2 is the "large" size of this pruner, while the smaller size is the F-6 (sells for a few dollars less). I bought this for my wife. As a pruner, Felco are simply the best (far superior than the $20 types sold at big box stores). The problem is that the description of this item does not make clear that the F-2 is designed for a large hand. I am an average sized adult man, and my "hand width" (from the tip of my thumb to the tip of my pinky) is 9 1/2 inches. The F-2 is perfect for me. For someone with a smaller hand, the F-6 might be a far better choice. The description on Bolo should make that clear.

    Favorite

I have gardened since I was a child and have used and purchased many types of pruning shears. These are simply the best! They are slightly smaller than most standard hand pruners, which I really like. I wear a size 7 glove so these are easier for me to use due to being more ergonomic. They sharpen easily and hold their edge well. This along with a Hori Hori garden tool are my favorite and most used gardening tools.

These are small. Perfect for small hands but normal size hands should get the F-2's

I bought these for my wife. She wanted the $10 dollar ones from the big box store that are made in China and probably wouldn't last one season...I was deciding between these and the F-2's. Everyone said these are for smaller hands and honestly they are. Some people stated these are still TOO large and I would have to disagree with that. I am an average man, 6'2" `180lbs. These are tiny in my hands. They seem to fit my wife's hands fine and overall these are small. I am going to pick up the F-2's for me.These are extremely sharp and cut/trim her rose bushes like it's butter. She enjoys using them. Once I get my F-2's I'll post comparison pictures in the review since I had a hard time deciding since I couldn't find pictures of them side by side.

Seriously, measure your hands! (check user photos)

First off, these cut WAY better than any other shears I own. Friskars seem like children's safety scissors by comparison. They cut through dead thick woody canes with ridiculous ease. My only complaint is that they are meant for small MENS hands, not women's hands.I have average sized lady's hands. Typical caucasian size, I guess size small glove and a size 5 ring. These clippers are still almost too big to keep a grip on when you open the blades. Essentially, if you hold your hands as if to grip imaginary clippers, as wide as you can, if this gap measures less than 4", there is no way you're going to be able to open/close these clippers fully with gloves on. They barely fit my hands bare, and with gardening gloves, I have to adjust my grip so my middle, longer, finger is doing the closing action. My index finger is too short to wrap around the handle without sliding off. The handles are not especially grippy, they're smooth rubber. So, unless they are small enough for your fingers to really wrap around them solidly, you will have to adjust your grip awkwardly.

Felco brand is the best for this type of product

I've used these professionally for years and buy each employee that lasts a year in the landscape maintenance business a pair with a holster. Till then they use knock offs. A thing to remember is to soak the holster, sold separately, in a quality oil, like three in one, and put the pruners in them for at least a week and the holster will conform to the pruner and the holster will also last much longer.

Don't Waste Your Hard-Earned Money On Anything Else

This is the best pruner that I have owned in my 35+ years of gardening. I currently have a huge yard and was seriously behind in my maintenance of it due to fibromyalgia over the last several years. Well I retired last year and starting to catch up on my yardwork very early this spring. It is now summer and I have used this pruner for probably at least 50 hours. I don't mean that it was on my belt for 50 hours. I mean that I've cut branches for 50 hours. After this time, the blade is still intensely sharp. When new, it was literally razor sharp. And it stays razor sharp for a surprisingly long time. For the average user with an average yard, if you don't hit a trellis wire or use it to cut roots in the dirt, it will stay razor sharp for several years, at least. This is pretty amazing. One reviewer wrote that his had rusted. This has not been my experience. The first few days that I used it, I rubbed a heavy oil on the blade afterward. But since then, I've only rubbed it with oil in order to remove sap residue. Except for some residual sap residue, the blade is as polished and shiny as the day I got it. There is not the tiniest spec of rust. At any rate, a fine pruner should be treated like you would treat a wood chisel and rubbed down with a medium to heavy weight oil after use (not WD40, use WD40 for sap removal only).Fiskar, at one time, made a bypass pruner that was serious competition for this Felco. It wasn't as sharp but it easily cut very large branches just as well. But they stopped making it about 12 years ago. Since then I've wasted more than $50 trying to get a decent pruner. I wish that I had bit the bullet sooner and bought these instead. These have a replaceable blade. So unless Felco goes out of business, they are going to last for the remainder of my life; which, according to the actuarial tables, should be about 20 more years.

    Fake Felco - Don't buy

This item is clearly a fake.Due to a misunderstanding, Felco model 2 secatuers ordered twice from different suppliers, so a new genuine pair and these arrived at the same time, which has allowed me to make a clear comparison. This item is clearly a fake of inferior quality - poor manufacture, poor quality of parts and obviously a fake when able to compare with a genuine pair. These images show the genuine pair on the top, fake pair on bottom.I've returned this fake pair but am really disappointed that Bolo are fullfilling fake items which are being passed off as genuine. I'd naively assumed if an item was fullfilled by Bolo then I could have more confidence that it was genuine....I won't make that mistake again.

    Fake Felcos

These are definitely fakes as the original Felcos do not have Philips head screws in the blade head. The red handle covering can also easily be peeled back and there are various other packaging and item giveaways.I'd say that fake goods on Bolo marketplace are the biggest threat to Bolo's reputation. I love shopping on Bolo as their web site is excellent, their customer service brilliant, but I'll now feel wary about buying premium items through Bolo or indeed any other marketplace.

    FAKE!!!!!

I'm a professional garden tool, knife and scissor sharpener and have sharpened dozens of Felco secateurs.I was so impressed by the quality I decided to treat myself to a pair, and at £36 a real bargain. However, a piece of total crap was delivered, cleverly disguised of course, but total crap.DO NOT BUY- THEY ARE FAKES - I GOT THE GENUINE ONES FOR LESS THAN £42 FROM WORLD OF FELCO.
