Solimo 3-Blade Razor for Men - Handle & 2 Cartridges

5.0 out of 5.0 by M. Hill on June 13, 2018
The kit includes a handle and two coated 3 blade cartridges. The handle has a good balanced weight. The blade cartridge has a blue Vitamin E lubricating strip at the top edge to help soothe and avoid redness and irritation. The bottom edge has a rubbery grooved thin white strip which slightly drags on the skin to stretch it out for a closer shave.

Areas on the handle where the fingers touch have a deep texture and a rubbery/silicone feel to ensure a secure grip even if the handle is wet. The in-house male says the blades glide smoothly and give a close shave without having to go over the same areas multiple times. Three blades keeps bulk to a minimum so the cartridge is slim and more maneuverable when compared to four blade models. So far excellent results.
Everything I Want in a Razor—and Less

2.0 out of 5.0 by Terry Sunday on June 16, 2018
I’m not impressed with this Amazon Brand Solimo 3-Blade Razor that I received free through the Amazon Vine program.

I have three issues with it.

1) It’s quite heavy, and hence not very maneuverable. It weighs 1.6 ounces, as compared to 0.2 ounces for the Gillette twin-blade disposable razors that I buy in bulk at Sam’s Club. That’s eight times heavier, and the difference is really apparent. I realize non-disposable razors have to be more robustly made than disposables, but this one feels big and clunky, and it steadfastly resists changing directions as I shave.

2) Even though it has some textured rubber grip areas on the handle, it gets very slippery when it’s wet.

3) It doesn’t shave close enough for me. Admittedly I’m anal about getting a close shave, but this one leaves stubble even after I go over an area repeatedly. My disposable razors give me a much closer, smoother shave. And I didn’t notice ANY effect from the “Vitamin E Lubricating Strip.”

So this razor just didn’t do the job for me. YMMV, of course, but I’ll stick with my tried-and-true disposables until something much better than this one comes along.

Not a big fan. The razor is a nice, extra weight with silicone grippers on the side. I still had a little trouble with it slipping when wet.

I was trying to be a environmentally conscious person and replace my plastic disposable razors with a real razor, thus only needing to replace the blades. But, I'm too spoiled with my lightweight alternative.

Set Includes:
(1) one handle
(2) two 3-blade razor refills

Details of product:
(1) Double coated blade
(2) Lubricating strip with Vitamin E
(3) Anti-clog razor refills
(4) Hypoallergenic

The best news is that Amazon stands behind their product. If you are not completely satisfied, they will refund the full purchase amount. No returns necessary.

So if you are just thinking of joining the "real razor revolution", then this is a guaranteed way to try. If you are not satisfied, just get your money back!
This is a Razor gone wrong!

This is a Razor gone wrong! Somehow everything is either bad or expensive or both.

[-] Heavy handle & slippery despite having rubberized grip
[-] Despite being 3-Blade Razor does not give you a close shave
[-] Solimo 3-Blade Razor Refills for Men, 12 Refills are comparatively expensive.

Usually you know when a razor is good when it creates clean cut lines to get that close shave, but even that does not happen!... you have to go over your beard area several times as if you are mowing lawn mover over a stubborn area of grass over & over again just to get the area clean. Oh well, Not everything deserves five stars!

FYI - This item can't be returned to Amazon once purchased. I do not recommend it and rating it with 2 stars (I do not like it)
For average use

If you are not too picky about shaving and do not have a lot of detailed edging to do, this razor is adequate. I only have to shave about twice per week and normally use disposable razors which are fine for me. The first thing I noticed was that this razor is much heavier than I am used to and the rubberized edging on the handle makes it easy to hold and grip. Two double-coated blades are included that have a lubricating strip with Vitamin E to reduce skin irritation. The blades are easy to install although it took me a few minutes to figure out how to get them out of the plastic holder (you hold the razor over the blade and it attaches itself after you slide the button). It shaves nice and smooth for me.
Doesn’t cut it

On the plus side, the handle has a great feel and weight. On the minus side are the blades, which don’t give a close shave. My Bic Flex 4 Hybrids give a much smoother shave at a similar cost.

I ended up touching up my Solimo shave with my Atra Plus razor. That’s right, forty year old Gillette technology yields a better shave, especially on the neck. It's hard for me to understand how Amazon - whose products I usually like - could misfire this badly on something as simple as razor blade design. But somehow they have. This shouldn't be rocket science. The Solimos just don’t cut it.
