Great Sub for Cream in Coffee, but Amazon might not be best source

3.0 out of 5.0 by M. Turner on March 26, 2018
There is nothing wrong with this coffee creamer--it's actually a very good substitute for dairy-free people and vegans, but I do not advise ordering from Amazon. I ordered Hazelnut and first received Original Sweetened. I reported the item as incorrect and received as a replacement Original Unsweetened. Now my house is full of 12 pints of coffee creamer that I hate to waste, but that I don't particularly want. Bottoms up! Of note: Amazon has been very courteous in handling the issue and finally refunding my money, but if you're in a hurry or just want to try out the product without a huge glut on your hands, you just don't know what you're going to get.

As to the product, it tastes a little more almond milk-y/thinner than my personal preference, but it is SO much more convenient than toting around a large carton of cashew milk and a can of coconut cream wherever I go so the convenience and pre-mixed configuration is a huge bonus and it does the job well enough. The price on the Califia Farms is slightly better than that of Nutpods, but Nutpods gets my vote for creamiest facsimile. Both brands tend to look a little curdled in coffee, which is not aesthetically appealing, but the taste is unaffected and vigorous stirring does seem to mitigate this issue somewhat.

If you're like me and you love dairy, but it doesn't like you back even a little, I definitely recommend this creamer or the Nutpods brand for your coffee. Neither one has all the weird, unpronounceable filler ingredients that some or most of the ones available at the supermarket have (and this is available at Whole Foods, but I live in a semi-rural area and can't get it). Most of the Califia Farms flavors (made from actually flavored food and not chemical "flavors") and all the Nutpods, do not even contain sugar. I have yet to try either as a substitute in other recipes, but I imagine it will work as well as the other nut milks I have previously tried, though it is a pricier option than straight up almond milk from the grocery store, which works very well in most applications.
I ordered this a cheaper replacement for my beloved nutpods ...

I ordered this a cheaper replacement for my beloved nutpods. Sadly, the taste was off and we ended up tossing the whole thing.
May not be a life changer for me

I've been trying to cut dairy out of my diet, however I am a hard core creamer lover. (Typically we use Dunkin Donuts Extra Extra). I like my coffee light, but prefer it sweet. This is definitely NOT sweet, however the creamer I tried to switch to (Coconut milk sweet cream) isn't cheap either and I go through it crazy fast. I try to make up for it by using some of this and some of the creamer. Another alternative is to use this and some stevia. The taste and creaminess is good, but for someone like me that likes some sweetness to their coffee, it's not good solo. I've tried NutPods and would say this may not be as good (sorry!).. but either will do in a pinch. Unfortunately I'm not sure this would be my long term go-to but glad I tried it.
finally a great dairy replacement!

5.0 out of 5.0 by Patrick Griffin on May 16, 2018
have been looking for a "normal" replacement for dairy creamer and finally found it! nice smooth creamy taste, a hint of coconut but not too much. colors the coffee just like half and half, and I am so delighted it isn't dairy! for whatever reason this basic flavor is much cheaper than the specialty flavors. but I love having my coffee (instant) now without the guilt. I can drink black coffee but it takes all the joy away!
... in bulk without having to be refrigerated not too sweet and great quality

Stores well when you buy in bulk without having to be refrigerated not too sweet and great quality. You won’t regret buying-great alternative to traditional dairy creamer or half and half and exceptional product!
Convenient and tasty.

I really enjoy this creamer. I prefer it to nutpods and it's less expensive. I typically make my own non-dairy creamer, but this is nice to have if I haven't soaked any almonds. I love that there is no added sugar.
Good price but too nutty tasting.

Love the price but I don't like the taste in my coffee. I love Nutpods but this was cheaper so I thought I would give it a shot. Right now I have to mix 50/50 with Nutpods so my coffee is still good! Way too nutty of a flavor.
Tasty, energizing, uplifting, and nourishing!

Best tasting creamer ever. I use this mostly for coffee. It sure makes it taste better and its a lot more healthier for you than processed (GMO'ed, toxic, artificial sweetening) dairy milk creamers. For your information, nut milks have more calcium and minerals in it, that are more easily digestible than cows (dairy) milk. I recommend this many times over for your coffee, baked goods recipes, and other healthy gourmet foods.
Came out chunky, like curdled milk.

I thought I'd give this a shot as I normally use NutPods. Received it today and with the first pour it came out chunky and very unappealing looking, like curdled milk. Shaking it vigorously made the chunks smaller, but still not something I would want to drink. Notified Amazon and they will replace it. We'll see if the next batch is better.
at great cost savings

My wife was looking for an alternative to the other popular and expensive brand of unsweetened non-dairy coffee creamer sold on Amazon. She was pleasantly surprised that this purchase will work for her, at great cost savings.
