Ignore the old cleaning instructions!

If you got the instructions that call for you to "remove the black inner blade cover" in order to clean it, ignore them. The company is now recommending that you hold the head of the entire assembled unit under running water in each of the two positions shown in the photos.
Superior Trimmer

I bought this to replace a Panasonic ER-GN30 I had for several years but which broke. I was never really that happy with the Panasonic as I felt like it chewed through batteries and often pulled the hair when cutting (and avoiding that is one of the main reasons I got a trimmer in the first place).

My first impressions of the ToiletTree was that the build quality was somewhat better than the Panasonic. It definitely rattled less and felt more solid, but the base cap and top assembly are all still primarily plastic. The function, however, is night and day above the Panasonic. Not only has it not pulled one time, it also cuts much faster. With the Panasonic, I felt like I had to spend a few minutes per nostril, but with the ToiletTree the job was done in 10-15 seconds. It's like using a commercial lawnmower instead of a weed whacker.

I took a look at the cutters (Panasonic is black, ToiletTree is white), and the design seems almost identical. It could be that the motor on the ToiletTree is stronger, so it's cutting more cleanly. Or it could be that my Panasonic was a lemon. We'll see if the ToiletTree holds up.
Update: rec'd. A good one

Looked promising, but when I inserted the battery and turned it on, it sounded fine, but then it would not turn off. Defective switch I suppose. Another reviewer had the same problem.

Update: Mr. Parisi, President of ToiletTree personally contacted me and offered to send me a working trimmer, which he did.
I rec'd. It today and it works great. That's what I call great customer service. Thank you Mr. Parisi.
FINALLY! A trimmer that works!!!!!

I have used many of the trimmers and most of them are absolute junk. I have tried Remington, Panasonic and others, all with the same miserable results. Most do not have enough power to spin the blades inside the head never mind actually trimming a nose or ear hair. This guy is the exception to the rule. I love this trimmer as it is the only one that works as expected. This spins at least twice as fast as my Remington and Panasonic trimmers did. No issues cutting any hair anywhere. The Panasonic and Remington are now resting in the worthless trimmer junk pile (trash).
Quiet & highly recommend

I was horrified to see nose hair. I tried using those razors you use to trim your eyebrows first but it didn’t really work.
I got this today & we all had a laugh that I as a woman wanted to trim my nose hair. After the laughing though I used this. The directions require 1 AA battery. That’s pretty much all you do to get this going. Besides turning it on. I currently have a finger injury but the switch to turn it on was easy to push up which I appreciated.

This is a pretty awesome device. I stood in the bathroom with my iPhone flashlight pointed up my nose & put this in my nose and turned it on. I couldn’t hear it running but could hear like a click/catch noise as it cut each hair. I’m pretty impressed by the power. Since it was my first time and I was a bit afraid I probably spent longer than most to complete. I did notice after about 30 minutes the part you put up your nose got a little warm. Not unbearable and like I said I had it on a long time!

I followed the advice of other reviews instead of the cleaning instructions. I tapped it over a trash can and ran it under warm water for about 20 seconds.

I give this 5 stars & am glad I purchased.
Not All Sound And Fury. It Really Cuts.

I've reached the age where I'm turning into a werewolf. I'm sprouting hair in places I never thought possible. It's always the full moon with me. And there's nothing romantic about it (ask my wife). Definitely not Twilight Saga. A razor can take care of most of it. But what's to be done about the biggest thing on a person's face that nobody ever notices unless there's Spanish moss hanging out of it? Time to call out the nose trimmer!

Which brings me here. I've tried just about all of the trimmers on the market, but none of them did a satisfactory job. This one does. It's very similar in design to those you can buy at a big box store, but whereas those go through the motions they just don't deliver. I grew tired of standing there for five minutes with a noisy little gadget up my nose and still seeing those ugly hairs sticking out. But this one gets the job done in no time. I'm still getting used to the tiny headlight that illuminates my nostrils as I trim. It's kind of like being in a dark mine with a headlamp -- you never know what you'll run into.

Now, if only they'd invent a trimmer I could use in my ears that didn't sound like an armored division grinding up a steep hill.
Updated - By far the best yet - and I've tried at least four other brands...

Update Feb 2018 - Still going strong, great motor/etc. My only complaint is that the plastic blade guard cone easily pops off (did this from new, but has become more annoying).

This is a great trimmer - when you first pick it up you can tell that it's a sturdy device. This feels nothing like any other trimmer you've used, it doesn't feel like it would fall apart after a few days use or a short drop to the floor.

The switch reliably switches on and off, which has been a problem with previous trimmers from different manufacturers, and motor seems reliable and strong.

Would highly recommend this over any other "name brand" you might be considering, I've purchased a number of "name brands" and they have all disappointed, if not outright failed, within a few short months of use.

Thank you ToiletTree - there's obviously been some design and manufacturing investment here, and that's nice considering most other manufacturers just try to sell the price and you wind up having to buy a new device every quarter.

Very very disappointing.Feels light enough but also has a plastic Right out the box, the top came right off & the cap that covers the battery won't stay in place, after installing the battery the twist & lock cap won't stay in place. The on switch has to be squeezed very hard & held in order to stay on & running, & the LED light.....useless, it blinks on & off & won't stay on. Perhaps i just got a defective one, but in my opinion there is nothing heavy duty or professional about this product......Can't imagine how it got any good reviews. Not worth the trouble to return. Win some loose some.
Who Nose? This trimmer Nose! (*groan*, sorry)

Top line: The perfect mix of power and performance: Nose hair trimming, perfected!

Good: This trimmer has changed my life--okay, that's a little overstating, but it has definitely changed my expectations of what a trimmer could be. I'm used to typically buying a new trimmer every 12-18 months, it working well for 6 months or so, then petering along until it gets to weak / dirty to use or simply breaks. With this trimmer, the build quality and strength of cut are exceptional, and I have not seen any drop in performance over several months. Cut is painless and trimmer cleans up really nice. Looking forward to using it for a long time.

Bad: Cost is a little higher than the typical junk trimmer, but it's justified. And as with any nose hair trimmer, it will get gunky if you neglect to clean it after each use. Prolong the life of the product (and don't be disgusting) by cleaning it each time you use it. [Clean up is a breeze, by the way. Just pop the top and run it under the water.]

Other: While others may sing the praises of the LED light, I just don't see it. Maybe if you typically work in the dark it would be helpful, but I can barely discern when it's on in my (evidently well-lit) bathroom. It doesn't really help me see into my nose either, except maybe the outer most edges. YMMV.
Did not last long, not worth the money.

When it worked, it cut well and did not pull, but the plastic that holds and locks the trimmer broke so it's useless now. Not worth the money. Contacted seller for a replacement under their "lifetime warranty" but ignored.
