The Viva Naturals Difference

Viva Naturals doesn’t source its coconuts from large-scale farms where machines pop thousands of coconuts off the trees every day. Instead, Viva Naturals contracts with local farmers, who hand pick coconuts in idyllic, fertile mountain regions in the Philippines.

These succulent coconuts are then cold-pressed at low temperatures using our proprietary extraction method, preserving vitamins, minerals and MCTs.

What Makes Viva Naturals Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil So Superior?

The Best Taste: Viva Naturals traveled the world in order to find the best-tasting coconuts. After hundred of hours, we discovered that the most delicious coconuts are grown in the fertile soils of the Philippines. With each jar of oil, you’ll taste the rich, silky smooth texture that is derived from these “cream of the crop” coconuts.

Grown in a Pristine Natural Environment: Our farms are miles away from the nearest city and situated with among wide nature preserve. This means there’s virtually no pollution or pesticide runoff.

Specialized Extraction: Viva Naturals cold presses each coconut within a few hours of being harvested using our proprietary extraction method. Rather than storing the coconuts in a warehouse for weeks or even months, the quick turnover crystallizes nearly all of the MCTs and antioxidants in the oil.

Where have you been?

I used this for two weeks - every night- (I bought 3) .. I have big hair.. the first time in years I was able to go back to a blonde after bleaching. My hair has been so damaged that any bleach would not hold its color in my hair anymore..
My hair has been so chemically damaged and I needed something to really sink into every strand- my hair is porous and very dry.. I presumed it soaked it up like a thirsty animal.. I actually put it on my head with either dry or wet hair.. it's very hard in container- I scooped out a bunch and placed that in my microwave for a few seconds.. I left it on my head either overnight or for a few hours.. I had to wrap a plastic bag around my head because the coconut oil drips on your face, down your arms, your back... be careful washing it out.. I suggest in the shower and not the sink.. after all this is oil your putting down your drain and after 3 days of that my drain stopped draining- out came the plunger.
I'd be careful not to let any drip around my floors... this is yummy and sweet coconut oil for any little bug to sniff out so be careful..
it does wash out of your hair easily but use a shampoo that's free of that sulfate and a coconut conditioner free of that too. After conditioning my hair it was the softest I've felt it probably in many years.. not even the salon ever got it that soft. Also.. it seemed to clarify my hair - the more days I used it the more my bad bleached dye job came out and the more my natural hair color came in.
I also use folic acid supplements- that's suppose to be what gives our babies all their hair before their born. .. something along those lines...
bottom line.... I'm so glad I read these reviews.. hope your glad you read mine.
Good luck.
This works better than all other lotions, salves, and even RX creams(like the one pictured next to coconut oil).

The best working and least obnoxious smelling tub of coconut oil I’ve found yet. My 7 year old son and I both have very dry skin and eczema. This coconut oil works FAR better than my son’s $1000 a tube perscription Eczema ointment which is extreamly painful to his skin I slather this on him from his chest down the second he gets out of the shower -while his skin is still wet. (Put a towel on the ground first and never put it on your child in the shower as it is very slippery) and then put long sleeved organic cotton pjs and socks on. Don’t let your kid run it all over your or his own hair because although it’s a great conditioning treatment it needs a re-washing to get out!!! Trust me...I know...All in All:::This works better than all other lotions, salves, and even RX creams(like the one pictured next to coconut oil). Great price too. Store in dark, cool place. I’ve been living with Dry skin and Eczema my whole life(37 years) and my son 7 years. I’ve tried it all behind the pharmacy counter and OTC. I’ve payed hundreds of thousands on 1000’s of different creams, lotions, salves, and ointments. I know everyone is different and every skin is different but if you’re looking for an something new to try at a affordable price, that is organic, -try this -if you disagree with me about the skin benifits you can always bake with it instead!!!!
Not for me

Not a fan of this. No matter how many ways I tried to use it (skin, hair, etc) it didn't work. It actually made my hands drier than usual. I guess it's just not meant for me. My sister swears by it, so I don't know!
Five stars

This was my second time purchasing this coconut oil, as I was so impressed with the quality of it my first time around. It smelled amazing and I loved that it was cold pressed, unrefined, and organic. HOWEVER, I was extremely disappointed to open my recent purchase and smell foul, rancid coconut oil. I'm not sure if it was old, or a bad batch, but it smelled so OFF that I knew I couldn't put it on my skin or hair. I reached out to Viva Labs customer service to no avail; had to contact Amazon directly for a refund. I was so disappointed because I really believed in this brand.

EDIT: the company reached out to me, actually several years later, to send a replacement jar of this coconut oil. It exceeded my expectations and smelled great and fresh. Excellent customer service!
Smells Rotten

It smells terrible. I suspect it is bad, I've never had coconut oil smell like this before. Unfortunately, you have to open it to smell it and I rubbed some on my fingers, thinking maybe the container just had an off putting odor. Alas, it's the coconut oil and I opened it, so sadly, I can't return it. The coconut oil smells like rotten movie theater butter for popcorn... not at all like coconut.
This oil is at best can be used as a body moisturizer

I have used home made coconut oil and I can say for sure that this product does not work as a pure coconut oil.
Pure cocunut oil when applied to hair, will add volume, remove frizziness and will not have a very light feeling on hairs. Viva coconut oil does not do anything close to it. It did not work for me and neither for my daughter. This oil is at best can be used as a body moisturizer.

LOVE IT~ this product is great.
It does not have a strong odor. I love that it is all natural.
I actually use it on my skin - MN winters and all:) and it really helps the dry patches.
In addition, I use a tiny bit on my dog's fur and it makes his fur shiny and helps cut down some on spring shedding.

UPDATE: I have edited my review because it molded:( I'm assuming it's mold at least. The product is a bit over half used and has black stuff growing on it. I live in Minnesota, so it's not hot lol. It's kept in a cool, dark cupboard. Very disappointed. This is my second order of this product. The first one had no issues.

Second jar came with a one inch layer of brown on the bottom. Wasn't even opened ever! As a matter of fact it was sealed so tight I couldn't even get the lid open. I have provided pictures. My review of coconut oil stands and I have also started cooking with it. But as far as ordering it without being able to see it I won't do that again. Walmart offers same pricing as Amazon and I can see that it is all creamy white, nothing brown that shouldn't be there.

I did call Viva Labs to let them know and their customer service had absolutely no idea why it would be brown on the bottom. And apparently had never heard this complaint from any customers even though Amazon customers routinely complain about the moldy color issue in the reviews. So disappointing. I still like this coconut oil best and have not found one I like better even though trying hard to do so. But the fact remains if I get a discolored jar of coconut oil I can't use it. Too many reviewers have complained too many times for me to ever try ordering it on line again and I have been unable to find this brand at the large superstores. If I find this brand on a store shelf and it is creamy white all of the way through I will buy it in a heartbeat.

So far I have only used this as a body lotion and face moisturizer with amazing results. My really dry winter skin soaked it up like a thirsty sponge. Even the next day my legs were still so soft. As a moisturizer it made my face very soft and smooth. It made my many wrinkles look much smoother when it was on my face. It takes some time to rub into your face completely so I haven't tried putting makeup on after using it yet. But I did put makeup on the next day and thought it looked quite nice. My face seemed a little brighter to me.
I put a teaspoon in my coffee. It is supposed to help with a myriad of things from constipation to weight loss to eczema. We will see.

One thing I notice is that many people who are having a hard time with mold most often seem to use it for their hair and skin. If a drop of water gets in or even steam say goodbye to the oil and hello to mold. Since reading that before I received my first jar I use two separate containers. I scooped a bunch out and put it into a tin ( glass jar especially dark is supposed to work well too) to use with my fingers as moisturizer, lip balm , cuticle softener etc...the larger amount I left in its container, in a powder room cupboard without the shower or stove to steam it up. I only use this for cooking and use only a utensil. I make sure the utensil is COMPLEYELY dry so as not to cause mold. After using the spoon I immediately put the lid back on and put it right back in the cupboard. Now if mine turns moldy we will know the problem is not the user. But so far so good.

Im going to start cooking with it next.

UPDATE: knees and elbows are really sore. Low thyroid gives fibromyalgia like pain and unbelievably I noticed when rubbing it on my skin the coconut oil alleviated the pain completely for the next 24 hours or so. So I started making it a point daily to really rub it into knees and elbow area and it makes a tremendous difference usually in about 15 minutes to a half hour max. My mom then tried it on her knee (replacements) and also for a pinched nerve causing sciatica for the last 4 months and also had amazing results with both areas as well. She did it before bed and woke up so much better she could hardly believe it. Read about it working for inflammation and arthritis so figured I had nothing to lose. What a wonderful relief. It worked well on my fingers when arthritis flared up a bit. After rubbing the oil in I never though about my fingers again until the next day when I realized how quickly they had felt better.

Also used it as the oil for the grill for hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches and both tasted great. Especially the grilled cheese. Not greasy at all. Tasted great. Hamburger might have been a tish greasier not positive but nice taste. Salted it as well. I'm trying to get a lot into me for added benefits!!

Will update if I do more with it. (Which based on these results so far I think I probably will.)

Oh my gosh!! Cooked both cod and salmon with it and not only did the cod not shrink but both fishes tasted wonderful. Sauted the in a pan on the stove in about 2 or 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and it was out of this world. Took less than 10 minutes, 4 or 5 on each side. I don't know where this has been all of my life!!

The product leaked all over during shipment. The seal under the lid was not sealed properly. I sent the product back.
