Well worth the Quality and Price

5.0 out of 5.0 by Ramy D. on October 28, 2014
So, I was in a desperate need of a 3.0 "Female/Male" USB extension. Reason is I needed to A) Power my device and B) Transfer data at the 3.0 speed, which is (much faster than the 2.0) so having said that, this cable delivered A & B. I was really happy with the price as well, I mean wow I got it for less than $6, and believe me $6 in the 2014 means like $1 few years ago. So, I am happily satisfied and confident with "Cable Matters" products. They seem legit for its performance and capability to deliver.

Keep in mind, the 10 feet one is equivalent to 3 meters for those who measure things in "meters" which kinda short. But, its the only approved length to a 3.0 USB extension. So be careful trying to buy longer as it may cause issues. Last note, you can use this for printers & Fax, Phone, Smart Tablet or any USB extension... Hope you find this review helpful, if so hit the "useful" button as it will show me that someone found my reviews helpful.

Very Nice Cable. ☺

5.0 out of 5.0 by Cowboy & Cowgirl on January 31, 2016
I bought this cable to use with my Acer 27" touch screen monitor which requires a USB 3.0 plug, so that's why I bought this extension because the cable from the monitor USB cable won't reach the computer where it is currently placed.
it's a nice heavy duty well made cable, works great my monitor works like it's supposed to.
The only issue I've had with the monitor was not the cable! It was Win 8/8.1 when I touched the screen I had to touch above where I want the pointer to go, but Win 10 straighten out that issue it right on.
Using the monitor with a 2.0 it was slow and not very responsive with this cable hooked up and connected to the USB 3.0 on the back of the desktop it now is very responsive like it should be.
Great Repeater Cable for Oculus Rift Sensors!

5.0 out of 5.0 by Stefan H. on August 26, 2017
I bought this cable to extend the reach of my Oculus Rift sensors, and it works great. This IS a repeater cable, so the 10-foot length will not affect the stability of your tracking. I use a 3 sensor setup with these on all 3 sensors and it works perfectly. The construction of the cable is high quality, and the bandwidth is enough to use USB 3.0 speeds with the sensors. I have also tried a few other computer peripherals with the cable, and they worked just as expected. I'd recommend this inexpensive 10-foot cable for pretty much any computer peripheral you need extended, but with the Summer of Rift 2017 sale going on, I'd highly recommend this if you need to extend your sensor cables.
Good on USB 2.0 also

5.0 out of 5.0 by BB Indiana on July 9, 2013
I purchased these USB 3.0 cables to extend my USB 2.0 wireless Headset. I Purchased 2 cables (I always get an extra).
When connected it didn't work (at first). I 'jiggled' the connections but no go. I tried the second cable and all worked fine. I went back to the first cable and plugged it in and out of the computer's USB 2.0 port about six times and tried it and all worked fine. I purchase 3.0 extenders even when 2.0 would work for 'future' uses.

I'm assuming the one cable had a bit of corrosion that needed cleaned off and as I had been using the computer port with no problems earlier it had to be the new cable. This isn't anything new to me and I know better but in my rush I was ready to toss a good cable in the trash and just go with the second one.

I've plugged this in and out several times and there is no problem.

Bottom line is, who knows how long these (or other) cables have been sitting around and in what kind of an environment. One should be ready to scrub or clean USB and probably other cables from time to time and before first time use and don't be a hot head like me...

I am happy with BOTH of these and would purchase more if necessary.

I hope my review was of help to you.
Perfect for what i needed

5.0 out of 5.0 by michael bell on March 8, 2016
I just bought a laptop with a usb hub and this is exactly what i needed. On the stand where i use my laptop i dont have any room on the sides where my usb 3.0 port is so i needed an extensiont plug it in on the back where i have room. I tried using another extension that i had but it was not rated for usb 3.0 speeds, which is why i needed this. This worked exactly as i wanted it.
Works good with the Oculus Rift!

5.0 out of 5.0 by matt on December 27, 2017
I bought this for my Oculus rift and it works great. I have it attached to my head set with an HDMI cable extender (also Amazon basics brand). I zip tied the cables together with zip ties ever 8 inches and I don't have an issue with tripping over it. Im going to buy another one of these when I get my third sensor next month.
Good for connecting things to stuff.

5.0 out of 5.0 by PTAaron on August 7, 2016
As the title says - this works great for connecting stuff together. That was a tough expectation to live up to, but this did it extremely well. Almost as easy as plugging one thing into one end, then the other end into another thing... then BOOM! The things are connected!!

This cable was the perfect solution to let me hook up a FLIRC IR receiver to my computer in another room. I just plugged it into this cable, velcroed it to the wall in my room, ran the cable through the wall to the computer and we were good to go!
Nice long high quality cable

4.0 out of 5.0 by Matthew on December 19, 2017
Nice long high quality cable! I bought it for the Oculus Rift and it worked well. Though the Oculus software showed it was USB 2.0 even though it was plugged into a 3.1 port. However, I had no tracking issues so this cable worked well. I had to return the Oculus Rift since it was uncomfortable with my wide glasses. Yet I kept this cable since its a very nice cable that I can use for other devices.
The only brand that works -- 6ft length, True USB 3.0 speed

5.0 out of 5.0 by listen440hz on February 14, 2017
Cable Matters seems to be the only brand that works. I've been buying a few different brands lately, trying them out. I'm surprised at so many dissappoints for something so simple as cable, ya? The others either drop signal, or don't deliver true 3.0 data transfer speeds, or the connected device is not recognized at all.

The Cable Matters works nicely. I've also discovered that for my equipment (which is common stuff, all WD external drives and HP laptops) forget going longer than 6ft/2 meter extension. If your 9ft/3 meter is failing, scale it down a few feet. The USB 3.0 spec is 9 ft Max, so don't press it. Weird that the old 2.0 USB spec could be much longer without issues -- not so with 3.0. This I learned by much trial, error, and research.
Best Value for the Length. Awesome Quality.

5.0 out of 5.0 by MrAntill95 on March 31, 2016
For the price, you really can't beat this. I'm using this as an extension from my PC which is hidden under my desk. I've connected it to one of the USB ports so that I can reel it up to my desk and connect a USB hub. For this length, I couldn't find a better price on either Amazon or Ebay. I checked several times and found this to be the best deal, (Plus Prime Shipping). At this low price, I was worried the quality might suck or that it would be flimsy and subject to break easily. Not the case. Very well made. Cable's thick and holds up well despite my occasional accidental tugs and pulls. My only slight con is the color. I wish it came in black so it's more hidden. Overall, if you're looking for a long USB 3 extension cable, this is your best bang for your buck. I'm really satisfied and would buy again if I decided to connect another USB hub.

-Length - SUPER LONG
-Great Value

-Color (minor issue. Blue's cool, but I wish they had black)
