Customers Reviews

Works great and was reasonably priced. Very happy.

5.0 out of 5.0 by J. Kellerman on January 3, 2016
We thought wifi was where it's at, but my 13 year old son vehemently disagrees. Apparently his computer games have "wifi lag" and he needed to be hardwired in order to play at his fullest potential. Blah blah blah, we gave the kid what he wanted because he is a great child who sincerely thinks milliseconds matter. He is very happy and so we are too. We ran this from our main floor modem, upstairs to his room, into an old router and used two short ethernet cords out to my son's PS4 and his gaming desk computer. He is very happy and we found the cord works well. It was very much beneficial to get the wifi hog (my kid) wired up, lol. I got the Cat6 instead of 5, because although my research shows little to no difference today, I didn't want to have to upgrade in another 18 months because my kid outgrew the previous version. Very pleased.
Good Customer Service

The cable was kinked about 26 feet into the spool. I did notice this before starting but went ahead and installed the cable anyway. I knew I only needed about 120 - 125 feet and decided to risk it. It worked out fine in the end, but if I needed the full 150 feet that I ordered, this would have gone right back.
Also worth noting is that this cable is stranded, not solid conductor. At this price point, I expected stranded. I just thought I share this finding in case it's important to someone else.

*update*
Cable Matters contacted me and offered replacement. I let them know that the cable had already been cut and installed, so they offered a partial refund to make good on the bad cable. Good to know that they stand behind their product. Will buy again if needed.
Best cat5 E cables I've owned

5.0 out of 5.0 by E Miller on December 8, 2016
I have always had very good results with cable matters cat6 cables. I bought this 50 footer to run from my computer room to my entertainment room. It's connected to my Comcast business cable modem and is hooked up to a Linksys SE3008 8 port switch. From there I have it connected to a Sony Blu ray player, Dish satellite hopper 3 w/sling, WD TV HDMI box, QNAP TS-853A NAS 8 bay, XBox 360, Yamaha AV Receiver RX-A720, laptop pc, some of the HDMI Inputs go through a 5 port auto HDMI Switch. I also use Netflix through the tv and Amazon Prime TV through the Blu ray player. My speeds are on an average of 48-75 mbps everything plays very smooth with no skipping or stopping to buffer. I also switched all my cables in my computer room to cable matters cat6. 3 computers, 1-2 bay NAS, 4 printers and one Linksys SE-3008 8 port switch.
Great for me

5.0 out of 5.0 by Grenik on February 18, 2015
I purchased quite a few of these cables in various lengths and colors. I have not used them all, but I have had many of them in service since October 2014 and they have worked well.

I have most of my house wired and have hubs throughout the house. I had a couple cables fail on me in 2014 as I was moving decices around. I decided that I had no good system for my cables and I wanted to remove 20' cables from places that I only needed 3'.

I color coded my cables and purchased cables in the correct length. For example, all cables from the wall to a hub are now Red, cables between hubs are yellow, etc. I ended up with 5 different colors.

I found that the connectors worked well and they snapped into place with an audible "click" and did not pull out with moderate force. The cables themselves were not too stiff so they were easy to snake around in the back of the shelf. I tested all the cables with a tester before putting them into service and had none fail. I have not tested the speeed, but I stream HD video from a centeral server to different TV's and have had no problem, so I think they are "fast enough" for me.

In general, a cable like this either works or doesn't work, but I appreciated that I could order different colors and lengths easily and know that the red would be the same shade on all cables since I was purchasing from the same vendor. Not that this impacts performance, but I liked it.
Quality stuff! No issues at 50ft

5.0 out of 5.0 by Hey Hey Trojan on December 7, 2017
Bought multiple 50ft-ers and all are perfect. From now on, I'm only buying from Cable Matters because I believe they're one of the few that use all copper wire (OFC). The vast majority on Amazon are selling a bit cheaper, but that's because they're inferior copper-clad aluminum (CCA). If the item description doesn't specify, you can bet it's CCA. Not only will you get inferior performance, remember that CCA anything cannot legally be run through walls in your house. Power wire, ethernet cables, audio cables, nothing.
Cables are perfect for long runs

5.0 out of 5.0 by peraspera on December 6, 2017
I goofed in not considering heating/air conditioning vents when having my Google Fiber installed so ended up having to run a 25 foot ethernet cable to my Google Fiber network box then doing a 35 foot run back to a second computer. There was no speed loss to the second computer nor from the run to my primary computer near the network box so the cables are working well.

I've always been pleased with Cable Matters products and it will remain my go-to for any future cable needs.
They work great, just the perfect length between my switch

5.0 out of 5.0 by Diogenator on April 23, 2017
They work great, just the perfect length between my switch, various routers (hard-wired and wifi), and the cable modem, all of which are clustered together on the same shelf. Not that they needed to be cat-6 at at only a foot long each, but why not? My cable service is nominally 1 gig, so it made no sense to limit speed to 100 megs (the cat-5 limit). I also love the snagless feature wherein the RJ-45 ends are covered by a molded shield to ensure the clips do not get caught and broken off. They are a bit stiff, but hey, that's the trade-off for all that extra twisted-pair shielding to minimize RF interference.
Great cable at a great price!

Cable Matters Cat6 Snagless Ethernet Patch Cable in White 35 Feet
This is a good quality cable as a very good price. The connectors are snagless and well made. The fact that this cable is rated Cat6 and priced so reasonably is the reason I purchased. No regrets whatsoever. It has performed without a hitch and exactly as cables priced much much higher.

For me, the white color was important. Against my white baseboards, this cable hides itself very well. Since it is installed in my living room along the baseboards, I wanted to hide it as much as possible. Installation included tucking the cable between edge of the carpeting and the white baseboard. I secured the cable along the wall using small (white) plastic loop clips every couple feet. I had to navigate several 90 degree corners and this cable was flexible enough to handle it well.

Overall, very pleased with this cable. I would buy again and recommend to others. Comparable to much higher priced products.
Perfect Cable for High Speed Internet Connection

5.0 out of 5.0 by jacopo mazzoni on October 28, 2015
I just bought a 75 feet cable to move the wireless router to the center of my apartment.
when I found out that I bought more cable than I needed I decided to test it to see if I was losing any of my bandwidth.
I tested the cable by just plugging one end in the modem and the other to the ethernet port of my computer it was faster than the 2 feet cable that came with the router.
Tested up to 135MB/s ( more than the speed advertised by my ISP ).

If I had to find a defect it would be that the text on the side of the cable is repeated too many times and it's very close.
I wish it wasn't there at all in the white cable as I purchased white so it would be less noticeable against my wall.

I bought these clamps as well and the were perfect for this cable so I thought it might be useful to others to recommend them here: http://amzn.com/B00DPKFGJC
Fit finish & quality seem good enough & they transmit OK on the network

4.0 out of 5.0 by AH on June 12, 2017
They are patch cables. What do you really expect to read?
I have not cut them open to check the cable size, quality or material, nor have I tried a transmission test on them, but the fit, finish & quality look good other than that & they are transmitting OK on my network, so I am happy enough.

I did not get paid, reimbursed, of given anything for free (never do as I am not important enough online!) so you are getting my own unbiased, honest opinion & nothing but that. :-)
