... compelled to help out - this wig is not great, not horrible

3.0 out of 5.0 by L. Bertoldi on October 3, 2017
Halloween is approaching and I feel compelled to help out - this wig is not great, not horrible. About what you would expect for $11. I have two comments: the style and the sizing.

The picture in the photo depicts the wig as extending well past the ears towards the chin. What you will actually get is a wig that is considerable shorter and barely covers the ears. My daughter is 9 years old and has a fairly small head. She will be wearing a crown on her head, so we need the length on the sides. The shortness is a disadvantage.

Reviews are so subjective - I read one that states this wig fit 11 and 12-year olds. I can't imagine it does. Maybe that reviewer had a wig from an earlier batch with different sizing? Maybe the reviewer wasn't as discriminating as I am with the fit? If I had this to do all over again, I would purchase an adult-size wig because I need the length on the sides for my daughter's costume. As it is, it's not horrible and the effort to return/exchange it is not worth my time. I would recommend this wig for kids up to 7 years old.
Not what expected

Bought this for a wax museum at school. Son is 8 yrs. old and it DID NOT fit on his head! (and he has a regular size head---just as FYI). He used it anyway as it was too late to return but his brown hair was VERY MUCH noticeable underneath. He wasn't too happy. :/ Keep in mind this might be your case if buying for kiddos around my son's age.
So while they're cool from afar they're not so cool up close

The issue with these white wigs is they're beyond white. They're kind of bluish white in their plastic quality. So while they're cool from afar they're not so cool up close. This particular wig out of the box had a fantastic shape. But you really need to be super gentle with it to not have it lose its style - there is really no way to brush it or return it to a smooth finished look. And my 6 year old (purchased for an Alexander Hamilton costume) is not what you would call gentle. It did its duty for Halloween but for prolonged use there is no way this would stay intact.
Great for wax museum project

Doesn't cover child's hair quite as well as photo depicts (although for smaller child, it might). Still, it looked great for son's wax museum project at school (even if a few of his hairs were sticking out here and there... ha!)

It's pretty cheap prices and cheap looking. It served its purpose for the 1 hour it needed to be used, but it never situated well on the head, looked very phony and didn't cover all of a child's hair, but it was just "good enough" to do the trick. The front of the head looks a little kooky. You'll see if you order it.
It is not like in the picture

It is not as pictured, thick and with nice big curls.. It is actually a very thin layer. The quality is so poor that it is just unbearable. I wound rather making one by myself instead of seeing my kid wearing such a piece of junk.
Alexander Hamilton looked great!

Alexander Hamilton never looked better! The costume, size 8-10 fit a tall 7 year old perfectly! I bought the wig separately which he refused to wear. Not surprising! Very well made and adorable!

This wig is very nicely made. It fits our sons ages 7, 9, and 11 very well. It has a ponytail in the back with long curls. Very impressive to look at with a nice hat. I bought this to use with the British Redcoat and American Patriot costumes by California Costumes. So much fun for my boys.
It's just okay.

The quality of the wig is fine, but it says "Boy child wig" and the kid in the picture looks to be around 10-ish to me. My nephew was going to use this for a school project, and it is a bit snug on his head, and way too short in the back. They should probably specify what age group this is for. I would say maybe 4-8 year olds could fit in it.

This fit my 8 year old boy just perfectly! But it was so scratchy he hated wearing it! It has some very rough netting inside! Looks ok though!
