5 star product!

5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazon Customer on May 24, 2017
I love Rogaine foam. It is easy to apply and smells really good. I have been using for three months along with Propidren Propidren DHT Blocker with Saw Palmetto to Prevent Hair Loss and Stimulate Hair Follicles to Stop Hair Loss and Regrow Hair and notice much less hair in the shower and on my pillow, so it is definitely working. It is a great value on Amazon as well, can't beat the price.
11 Weeks In - Significant Results So Far

5.0 out of 5.0 by Avery on March 21, 2017
I've been using Rogaine for a little over 2 and a half months now, and I guess I'm pretty lucky. I've had rather advanced regrowth in my hair in a short period of time. Attached are my before and after pictures. Before treatment you can see aggressive hair loss that began about 4 to 5 years ago just after turning 20 years old. Lots of hair was shedding in the shower, and on my hands while styling. You can actually see the shine from my scalp reflecting from the overhead light.

After just 11 weeks of twice a day use though, there has been regrowth, and it's not an insignificant amount. After about 4-5 weeks I noticed I was shedding less. 6-8 weeks in my shower floor was looking much cleaner, with less scalp showing. Then shortly after that, thinning areas began to gradually fill in. I believe if I continue use for another couple of months, I may regrow even more hair and show very little signs of thinning! I've also been using Pura'Dor hair loss prevention shampoo with Rogaine (expensive, but worth it if you care about maximizing results). Please don't use this product, then damage your hair with a cheap, harsh, and damaging shampoo. Give your head everything it needs to be healthy.

Only side effect I've noticed is some random pains in my chest, so I may reduce dosage somewhat. Remember that this medication was originally designed for blood pressure issues, so only use as much as you think you need. More is not better, that's how you end up with side effects. Aside from that, I haven't had any itching or dryness that others complain about.

All in all, I wasn't sure if Rogaine actually worked or if it just slowed down hair loss. But I truly believe it looks like I have more overall hair than I used to just a few months ago, and I'm excited to see what my hair will look like after 4 or even 5 months of use. Just hoping the recent start of discomfort in my chest goes away.

Hope this gives you guys hope. Don't quit if you don't see results within a few months! I recommend buying a 6 month supply, taking detailed pics before, then use it twice a day for at least 4 months. Be disciplined and don't skip doses! Some guys take longer than others to respond. Monitor how much hair you're seeing shed in the shower, but try not to think about it or over analyze the regrowth too early. Just let it do it's thing, then check yourself after you've finished 3-4 cans. Good luck!
Another success story, with results that came sooner than expected!

SHORT VERSION:

Do it. Don't hesitate. Don't second guess. Do it. You will be so happy you did! Just keep in mind, Rogaine only works for men who have thinning hair or are bald at the crown of their head. If you're losing hair from the front/forehead area, unfortunately it will not work. There packaging mentions it multiple times to clarify before you buy. Sorry guys.

LONG VERSION (for those who like details):

I'm a 30-something dad, testicular cancer survivor, with hair that was quickly disappearing from the crown of my head. Suffice it to say, I was not happy with the changes going on with my body, most of which I had no control over. And my youth seemed to be slipping right past me while I grappled with the realization that I will never look the way I did in my 20s (which feels like it was just yesterday).

I needed a boost to my self-esteem that wasn't wildly expensive and it didn't involve surgery. I've seen enough surgeons for a lifetime! Rogaine provided exactly what I needed. I've been using the foam for 90 days now, twice a day, and usually very consistently. As the instructions explain, consistency is key. What I see in the mirror is amazing. Yes, it's entirely superficial, but it's a victory. I feel like a small part of me is back to the way it used to be and sometimes you really need that.

After about 30 days, I saw some small improvement. It was very gradual until one day I looked in the mirror and said, "Oh hey, there's more hair back there." I never experienced itching or dryness, or anything negative. It felt like nothing had changed at all. The only side effect, and this is very strange, but maybe 20 mins after I put it on, I felt one small throb on the crown of my head and it passed in seconds. I don't know what that was about. It wasn't unbearable or anything and that stopped happening after about a week.

60 days is when I really noticed a change. I used to be very particular about styling my hair in a way that hid the spot. It wasn't a comb-over, but it did have to sit just the right way. If it brushed up against something or a strong wind blew it, there would be an embarrassing bare spot.

So at 60 days, I was doing business in San Francisco on a particularly windy and rainy day. In the past, I would have panicked. The rain and wind would have revealed my bare spot and really messed with my self esteem. But on that day, I realized when I checked the back of my head that it was completely fine. There wasn't a bare spot anymore. When I went out to lunch with other associates, I felt happy and confident, completely unafraid that the wind was going to make me look strange. It was a very rewarding day to have that confidence back.

Now it's like nothing at all. I put the Rogaine on in the morning and the evening. It's that simple. Every now and then, I've skipped a treatment in the morning. Usually on a Saturday when I had some yard work to do and I just threw on a cap right after breakfast. Don't worry if you miss one treatment. You won't lose all your hair. Just go back to your routine that evening and you'll be fine. The instructions explain that your hair only falls out if you stop treatment for several months. So don't beat yourself up if you miss one. I would just suggest being very consistent during the first 30-60 days. That's what I think matters the most.

The daily requirement is the only real downside of Rogaine. You have to use it for life. But I don't mind. It's one small thing about my appearance that I really feel like I have control over, and I love the new confidence. If I have to rub a little foam through it twice a day to achieve that, I can deal with it.

The instructions mention it can take up to 4 months to really see results. I must have been fortunate to have seen results sooner. If you look at the photo, you'll see there is still a bit of thinness in the center. I've only been using it 90 days, so I figure that will fill in during the next month. Even if it doesn't, and this is as good as it gets, I'm still satisfied!
The Brutal Reality...

5.0 out of 5.0 by NoNonsense on May 28, 2017
This is a very good product, but it's not a magic potion. I have been using it for years, and seen others use it for years and here is what I can attest to: The sooner you start using Rogaine, the better. Yes, for some people, not that many, it grows hair where there was none {and yes, you could be one of those). But, the most common effect of Rogaine is to help you keep most of the hair you already have and maybe help a little in areas you still hair (but want more).

So, if a "normal" human loses 100 hairs a day, and you are losing 150 [which is terrible, because day after day, that adds up...], if Rogaine can decrease that daily loss to 110 or less, that is fantastic. That is the effect it has in me and I am very happy. Would I wish it was more effective in the regrowing part, YEAH, but while such product appears this is doing me a great service. And it does help, although to a lesser extent, for frontal baldness and receding hairline (not by regrowing, but by significantly delaying the hair loss process).

Now, should you use foam or liquid. Well, for me the answer is very simple, but some people are not going to like to hear it. Since I started using Rogaine early in my hair loss, I still have a lot of hair, so when I have used foam I wasted a lot of Rogaine that didn't get to scalp but was stuck in the hair. That is not going to help me, or anybody else. It has to get to the scalp. That is why I love the liquid form.

Foam is for those who, unfortunately, waited too long. The only way foam gets to your scalp is if there is no hair, or very little hair, in its way. That explains why these people also claim that the liquid form drips down their face, because they don't have enough hair to stop it. My only suggestion for "foam people" is that if they have areas with lots of hair, don't neglect them, apply some Rogaine on them [making sure it gets to the scalp], its the best way to assure you are going to keep those areas... and maybe regrow from there, who knows...

That's it. I have used it for more than a decade and it has helped me tremendously. Although, like you, I can't wait for science to produce the definitive solution in the near future. Until then, good luck to us all!
my husband went to a doctor for a hair loss ...

my husband went to a doctor for a hair loss at a young age and she suggested this product to him. So what it does is stops the new hair from from falling out and eventually i would say after a 2-3 weeks you see results. new hair grows in and the old one stays too. so you end up with a full hair. you cant stop using this product though. the minute you stop you go back to loosing hair.
you’ll be disappointed. So far

4.0 out of 5.0 by Cory penta on March 4, 2018
Instructions say “Not for hairline use” “Top of scalp only”. Ignore that. If it works for beards it’ll work anywhere. From what I’ve noticed after four months, My hairline is seeing more results than my scalp. They say don’t make any judgements until at least six months. That may also be true. But so far, 4 months in, my hairline is making much more progress. They are 100% correct about using Minoxidil 5% (Rogaine) twice a day. If you slack, or fail to follow a daily process you’ll cheat yourself and blame the product. Be consistent. If not, you’ll be disappointed. So far, from what I’ve seen my “Hairline” is making tremendous progress. My scalp, not as quickly. But my scalp is definitely seeing progress. Just not as immediately as my hairline. My hair in general. Stronger, thicker better looking. Ratings: Hairline B+. Top of scalp C+/B- . Why scientist believe it’s only for top of scalp treatment im unsure of. When they know damn well it works. All over. 4stars. I’ll check back in 2 months.
Worked for me. Does not contain polypropylene glycol which can cause scalp inflammation and dandruff in people allergic to it

5.0 out of 5.0 by Al G. on July 10, 2017
Unlike some other minoxidil products, Rogaine foam does not contain polypropylene glycol, which some people are allergic to, like I am, and which for me, caused severe inflammation and rash in my scalp and dandruff. For me, this is a very important positive of Rogaine foam, as I cannot use any product that contains polypropylene glycol without severe irritation of my scalp.

I started using Rogaine foam soon after I noticed thinning of my hair. For me, Rogaine has worked and has even restored my hair growth at the front of the scalp, even though the makers of this product state that it is more effective in re-growing hair at the crown. That it worked at the front of my scalp might be due to the fact that I did not wait too long before starting Rogaine after I noticed my hair was thinning.

That being said, don’t expect immediate results. The hair growth for me became evident only after several months of daily use, two times a day.

As many of the reviews for this product state, it does not work for everybody, however.

I much prefer Rogaine foam to the liquid variety, as it doesn’t leave as much residue in the fair, or make it as stiff and gummy feeling (this is a matter of degree).

However, it still leaves some residue and I find it best to shampoo my hair every day.

The manufacturer recommends placing a measured amount of this product into the cap and then transferring the material in the cap onto the scalp. I have found that applying it this way results in too little of the material reaching the scalp and too much being applied to the shafts of my hair where it does no good. Thus, I apply the Rogaine directly to my scalp, applying 3 - 4 very short bursts directly to the scalp, and then massage it into the scalp into the areas that I want hair growth. This way, the Rogaine is applied to where it should be, to the scalp and the hair follicles. However, it is difficult to measure how much product you are applying to the scalp this way. One way I try to measure is that one can of Rogaine, applied twice a day should last a month. In addition, you can try to gauge how long the bursts should be by shooting the short bursts of Rogaine into the cap to determine if it fills the cap to the point where it is marked, which is the amount of product Rogaine says should be used.
I was frustrated after the first two months and then...

I have tried so many hair loss shampoo's, pills and everything else.

I saw pictures of rogaine users before/after and just didn't think it was real.

Eventually I thought to give it a try. When I bought it, I got disappointed that it's made for only the "crown" area. I always assumed it would work everywhere since their advertising never specified "just the crown."

I have a balding in my crown area + severely receeding front. What I mea by "balding in my crown area,"is that my hair has a "dip," where hair is loosing it ability to grow at the same pace as the other areas around it.

I used rogaine for 1 month and saw nothing. Sometimes when I applied it, it even stung really bad. Everthing in the package said to use it fully "3 bottles of mouse for three months." I only did once per day because it would sting if I did 2x a day.

2nd month I saw nothing. I was about to throw it away. I kept at it but didn't pay attention to my crown area anymore. Just thought I would completely use it and then check it then.

3rd month. I was doing my hair and I saw my "dip" severely diminished. I was surprised. Over the next few days, I paid attention to my hair more and I was suprised that it actually worked.

I will now stick with this product since I am now very satisfied with the results I got.
Adds volume, even before it starts working.

4.0 out of 5.0 by Joe on April 30, 2018
I just started using this a week ago, so I have not seen any results yet but I decided to write this review to say that after I use it and it dries, it adds a huge amount of volume, making it look like my hair is not thinning. This is a good thing. Even if it didnt make my hair grow back I would still use it every day for this reason alone. It also styles the hair great without looking like you are using a styling product. This is the only product I have personally ever used that styles your hair perfectly without looking like you are using a styling product. I will come back in 6 months and edit this review.
Don't waste your time

Don't waste your time. Use Kirkland's brand for half the price and for twice the amount. I didn't get results with Rogaine... but with Kirkland... I'm really quite surprised; even in the first month.
